Scooter update:

Had my first proper fall from the scooter this week. I’d been going for about 10-15 minutes and noticed the handlebar/steering column was feeling loose around the joint where it folds. I guessed it was the adjustment to tighten the clamp and decided to do it when I got back.

Bad move. It went from kinda loose to very loose to completely disconnected very quickly. It was the main bolt that holds the hinge that wasn’t tight and eventually gave out and fell away. It was, very briefly an electric skateboard before it pitched me forward onto the road.

Fortunately the traffic was light around me and I got away with cuts and bruises. As demonstrated below. So do yourself a favour and before your next ride got check everything’s fasten how it should be.
